You can work with the Virlanie Foundation for a period ranging from 3 weeks to several years if:

  • You are at least 18 years old

  • You love children 

  • You are in good health

  • You are comfortable in English

Preference is given to volunteers who can stay for a minimum of 3 to 6 months and have a specific profile : educators, teachers, nurses, doctors (or future doctors), physiotherapists, occupational therapists, art therapists, ….

Conditions
In collaboration with the Virlanie Foundation in Manila and Virlanie Faith in Bacolod  City (Negros)

​ETM has worked for many years with the NGO Virlanie Foundation. This organisation was founded in 1992 by Frenchman Dominique Lemay with the aim of helping children living on the streets of Manila. Children taken off the streets or released from prison (in the Philippines, a person can legally be imprisoned from the age of 9) are taken into family-style homes where they receive care, affection and, above all, the education they need to develop and integrate into present-day Philippine society. The Virlanie Foundation also works in the field of the rights of imprisoned children: it has a strong presence in juvenile detention centres. It also works in several slums, on the smouldering Payatas rubbish dump and on the streets of Manila with children and young people who have to fend for themselves to survive…

Become a volunteer in the Philippines

  • You will be able to work with the Virlanie Foundation for a period ranging from 3 weeks to several years if:

    • You are at least 18 years old

    • You love children 

    • You are in good health

    • You are comfortable using English
