Direct beneficiaries
In January 2026, thanks to sponsors and one-off donors, the project is supporting 19 young people in their studies. Some are in primary school, others in secondary school, and 7 at university. Six young women are being sponsored through university.
The project supports the schooling of children and young people in the Pochutla region, Oaxaca, in the far south of Mexico.
Objectives
To enable young people from economically disadvantaged families in the region to continue their studies up to secondary or even university level.
To support girls, who in many families still do not have easy access to education.
Activities
Since 1989, La Casa Oaxaqueña has shown that learning can be a real pleasure, even fun, and can open doors to undreamt-of horizons in small villages in southern Mexico.
Some former students have now become our local partners: as children, they took part in La Casa Oaxaqueña’s activities and went on to complete their university studies; today they volunteer their time to ensure the project’s long-term future.
They have become the spokespeople of La Casa Oaxaqueña, and it is now they who, as volunteers, help young people from their region to continue their studies by giving them the right support.
